Ayer mismo los de Seattle anunciaban que hoy tendríamos adelanto del que será su nuevo disco, ‘Gigaton’ y así ha sido. Han cumplido. Con esto Pearl Jam pone fin, de momento, al chorreo casi diario de noticias que nos iban dejando. Primero el teaser, luego el anuncio de ‘Gigaton’, la gira, el tracklist y por último este single titulado, ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’.
‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’ aleja a Pearl Jam del estilo que los ha definido durante su historia. Estamos ante un single de carácter electrónico, donde lo único inalterable parece ser la voz de Eddie Vedder, que en algunos momentos vuelve a mostrarnos esa rabia grunge que aún le fluye. No obstante, y como decíamos antes, este tema parece ser una nueva concepción creativa de la banda que, esperemos, salga bien. Y es que lo evolución en las bandas es un hecho indiscutible y además necesario, lo que ocurre es que en ocasiones esa evolución no es tal, siendo más bien una transformación. No sé si se está notando, pero un servidor quiere al Pearl Jam de siempre (y me es inevitable pensar al escuchar este avance, en el descalabro de Dover con su ‘Follow the city lights’) y, sin querer ser agorero ni precipitado, en este ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’, no aparece.
El disco completo de ‘Gigaton’ será lanzado al mundo el 27 de marzo y la gira que, de momento, hay programada pasará por América del Norte y Sur, Europa (por lo pronto por España no se dejarán ver) y también Australia.
